Social anxiety is a fear of many things, so it’s never a one-size-fits-all, but we have highlighted some common worries and fears you may have. ?️
- being so careful with your words, but still worrying that you’ve offended someone.
- building up the courage to speak and going blank mid sentence.
- constantly canceling social plans.
- Constant fear of being judged by others or worrying about what they think of you.
-
Overthinking moments in your head keeps you awake at night.
What can you do?
Let’s work on the fear. Remind yourself often why you want to be social and what you could gain from the practice. Yes, it may be new to you, but that does not mean you won’t be good at it. ✨
When you think about or do go, you may feel anxious. Try to take some deep breaths.
Tell yourself you feel anxious because your thoughts are fearful, then repeat, “I am safe. I want to try this. It doesn’t matter what anyone thinks.” Have some water and jump right in. I don’t have to be anyone but me. ?
